Enfleurage Absolute Oil - Sandalwood
Sandalwood is native to India, Sri Lanka, Indonesia, and nearby islands. The oil is extracted from mature trees, usually aged 25-30 years, with the roots providing the most oil. The distillation process requires significant labor and fuel as the wood is processed and distilled for many hours. The resulting oil is pale yellow to yellow, with a soft, sweet-woody, and balsamic scent that lasts a long time. Sandalwood is highly prized as a blending agent and adds tenacity to other oils. The oil is from steam or water distilled from finely chopped or coarsly ground wood and roots. Sandalwood is not commonly used as a flavor due to its bitter taste. However, it is widely used for its aromatherapy properties. It has anti-inflammatory effects and is effective for skin conditions like eczema, psoriasis, irritation, and dermatitis. Sandalwood is also beneficial for the lymphatic, nervous, and respiratory systems. It is known for its soothing, cooling, and moisturizing properties, making it suitable for dry skin and acne.

They do not add anything to their essential oils and hydrosols, ensuring a pure and unadulterated aromatic experience that captures the essence of the plant.
